The Thanks And The Giving

When I think about Thanksgiving, the first thing that comes to is what I'm thankful for; being able to have a passion for volunteer, people I love, feeling safe, resources, etc. I also think of the obvious like the turkey, pumpkin pie, all the amazing food and family time. I never forget about the other half of the word. Which is the "giving" part. Thanksgiving for my family is about giving thanks, but it's also about the giving. No matter how many blessings come my way I will always make a difference. Rather it's making a positive impact for many beaches, or in some small way.

It makes me feel good to not only help those in need, but to also sort of “walk the talk” in terms of working at Feeding America. I love to see young kids volunteering with various groups or family members like I did when I was a kid.

From volunteering, friendsgiving, spending thanksgiving at a shipyard, and making organic turkey and garlic cauliflower mashed potatoes for the first time ever.

[Giving] It all began on a Saturday morning at our local elderly community: We delivered 10 of the 50 food baskets this morning to the elderly community. Mesias handed over the bags full of toiletries, turkey, chicken and learned a bit along the way. A good service project participation for a toddler and a few other teenagers who helped me. #volunteering #godsworkourhands #blessed #thanksgiving #raisingaboy

[A Bountiful Harvest] Spent friendsgiving with the Halfman family.

[Thankful Hearts, Helpful Hands] Thanksgiving at a shipyard. Thankful for the services of the military chefs. Blessed to be able to have them take good care of many families while they are away from there families at this time. There is not enough days in the year to thank a veteran for what they do for us.

[Look at this feast. Now let's eat this beast.] Made organic turkey and garlic cauliflower mashed potatoes for the first time. I can't believe how great it all turned out. The turkey was well seasoned and juicy. Everything was so good, we weren't able to eat dessert due to being stuffed.

*Not pictured above: corn casserole, stuffing, mac and cheese, gravy, glazed Chinese long beans, and my homemade cherry pie cups.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
